We are thrilled to announce we have another world first - usability has been revolutionised with the introduction of a completely wire-free camera system, capable of lasting an entire nesting season without connecting to an external power supply!
We recognised that many people who wanted a Bird Box Camera were put off by having to drill a hole through their external house wall to run the power cable through. After months of development, we’re extremely proud that our new system is the first in the world to offer a completely wire-free solution.

Our new WiFi Bird Box Camera System allows 24/7 access to unseen, close-up HD views of your nesting birds on a smartphone or tablet with a brand new specially designed app. You can even share access to your camera’s live stream securely with family and friends via the app wherever they are in the world. Plus, up to 80 hours of footage can be stored on the camera’s built-in 32GB Micro SD.
High-Performance Solar Panel
Our newly developed system includes a battery-powered WiFi camera which is kept charged by a highly efficient solar panel with its own integrated 15,600mA lithium-ion battery pack. This ensures the camera stays fully charged, even on the cloudiest days.
The solar panel's battery pack recharges with sunlight, and on the rare chance its battery does run down, it can simply be taken indoors and charged via a Micro USB - all without disturbing your nesting birds.
Packed With Features
The high-spec 3.0 Megapixel WiFi camera shoots 2304×1296P Full HD colour video in 30FPS, has a 5200mA battery and a pre-focused lens to offer a perfect top-down view of the Bird Box’s nesting chamber. Other camera features include:
- Instant motion detection alerts via the app
- A light sensor
- Night vision infrared LEDs
- A microphone to hear your nesting birds as well as you can see them

In addition to our solar-powered camera, we've also developed a new 4.0 Megapixel PoE (Power over Ethernet) camera for our Bird Boxes which can be powered by a CAT5e Ethernet cable up to 100m away.
Gardenature: Bird Box Experts
Every Gardenature Bird Box is manufactured with the passion and experience of two decades at the forefront of the industry. Made from responsibly-sourced Western Red Cedar, the natural oils in the wood mean they do not require treating or painting, while discreet drainage holes allow the nesting birds to stay warm and dry.
Each Bird Box features translucent windows to provide optimum light for the camera while offering a natural environment for the birds. A removable front panel and optional 28mm and 32mm hole protection plates (included) make it an ideal home for a wide range of garden birds, including blue tits, coal tits, marsh tits, great tits, house sparrows, robins and more.
