Solitary Beehive Box - Camera Ready

A high quality solitary beehive box which can also be used with a Gardenature IP camera kit or nest box Camera Kit (available at additional cost).

Handmade in our UK workshops using only the highest grade PEFC certified Western Red Cedar (responsibly sourced) and Pine Nesting trays, this camera ready beehive box offers good quality, durability and great value. This cedar solitary beehive box does not require any preservative treatment as the natural oils within the wood will protect it against the weather conditions, but if you wish to paint the mini beehive box please use a water based solution. The roof fits into a slot in the rear panel preventing rain from entering the solitary bee chamber, this is easily removed via two front section screws allowing access to the camera. For ease of cleaning out and inspection all trays can easily be removed and the complete front section of the solitary bee box can be removed.

This solitary beehive box is educational and fun for all age groups, especially if you fit it with an optional camera kit where the top tray is covered by a clear perspex for the camera to view the activity. A quick release mounting bracket holds the camera in the optimum position, this also allows for ease of camera transfer between other Gardenature camera ready nest boxes and viewcam feeder products if required.

The hole sizes of this bee hive habitat are precisely specified to attract non-swarming bees like the Red Mason Bee, Leafcutter Bee and other solitary bees. These friendly bees are industrious and safe around children and pets. The bees are naturally attracted to holes in wood and this mini solitary beehive provides a habitat that has become harder to find in modern gardens.
Fascinating and great for education, the beehive trays can be carefully slid out and separated to view the formation of small cells where the eggs are laid, or indeed where predators have been active.
