Education Triangle - CrittaCabin
Designed to support the teaching of minibeasts on the primary school curriculum, this impressive habitat provides a home for pollinators, beneficial insects, mini mammals and hedgehogs. A stunning addition to any school wildlife garden, or conservation area.
This giant insect habitat stands a metre tall. The crittacabin is constructed from timber with a built in variation of minibeast habitats within the structure. Starting at the base we have a Hog house or hedgehog shelter which provides hedgehogs with protection from predators and garden tools such as strimmers, mowers and forks. The three different types of insect log habitats are good for beneficial insects such as ladybirds and lacewings and also pollinators such as solitary bees and leafcutter bees.
- The small specially designed holes are ideal for solitary bee occupation
- The larger holes will provide homes for additional beneficial insects
- The slot logs are good for lacewings and provide crevices for over wintering insects
The crittacabin is finished with the addition of natural pine cones and recycled plastic fixing points on the reverse to allow the habitat to be secured in place for child safety and school security.
