Swift enthusiasts wanted
Posted 05 Mar 2013
The RSPB is keen to hear from local swift groups that have good local knowledge of swift nesting sites in towns or cities. A new study starting this year is hoping to test whether point counts of low flying swifts can provide a useful measure of the local abundance of nesting swifts. The RSPB is keen to hear from swift enthusiasts who have a good (recent) knowledge of the distribution of swift nesting sites either for a single colony or across a wider built-up area (ideally a district within a town, city or large village). The RSPB is hoping that volunteers can help conduct evening point counts of low flying swifts between mid May and mid July 2014.
If you think you have good local knowledge of the distribution of nesting swifts then please contact Will Peach on the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
